Created by an American psychiatrist, Dr. Eric Berne (1910-1970), Transactional Analysis has its roots in humanist currents, psychoanalysis and communication theories.

It is an original, structured theoretical model of personality and interpersonal relations. It offers a set of concepts for the treatment of psychological disorders and tools for personal, social and collective development.

In the application of Transactional Analysis, four professional fields can be distinguished:

• Psychotherapy (provisionally recognized course, in the process of obtaining ordinary accreditation, in accordance with the LPSy)
• Counseling / Guidance

The ultimate goal of TA, in all fields, is to increase the autonomy of the individual, develop clear communication in interactions, and manage emotions in a healthy way for the benefit of individuals and groups.

Each professional field has its own specialization in Transactional Analysis training, as well as a specific certification.

The Centre AT-Genève offers specialized training modules in the Consulting field, and organizes on its premises the Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy IP-ASAT / ASP Integral Concept post-graduate training program.
