Consultations, psychiatry and child psychiatry

The Consultations offer comprehensive care for individuals (children, adolescents and adults), couples and families (psychotherapy, and psychiatry if necessary). It is based on three main areas of expertise.

All our consultation services are covered by basic health insurance (LAMal).

Individual, couple and family psychotherapy by psychologist or doctor **Individual, couple and family psychotherapy

This is the basis of the work of change or adaptation to change - it is usually carried out on a weekly, sometimes bi-weekly, basis - couples and families are seen every 3-5 weeks (except in a crisis phase, when appointments may be bi-weekly).

Psychiatry

A psychiatric assessment by a physician is required when suffering reduces the ability to work (certificate of incapacity to work, report to the Invalidity Insurance (AI) when incapacity is prolonged or a professional reorientation is necessary due to the psychological disorder) or when medication is required (severe anxiety states, sleep disorders, psychotic disorders), sleep disorders, psychotic disorders, etc.) when the doctor intervenes, he or she can also carry out a diagnostic procedure and implement certain care measures, such as ergotherapy, physiotherapy, day workshops, or even organize a hospital or para-hospital stay (e.g., a nursing home).e.g. when hospitalization is unnecessary or counterproductive).

**Psychological (neuro-) assessment

A useful resource in the therapeutic process, as it objectifies a situation and facilitates decision-making (it can also help parents better understand and adjust to their child's needs).

Expertise

Expertises are carried out exclusively by doctors who are members of the FMH, possibly assisted for personality and/or assessment tests by FSP psychologists specifically trained for this purpose.

Psychiatrists and child psychiatrists carry out psychiatric assessments on behalf of insured persons, private insurers, courts and social insurers.
