We are a clinic for internal medicine, oncology and psychiatry. In addition, we have a wide range of outpatient services - including an outpatient branch in Basel, the Ita Wegman Ambulatorium.

Whenever you are in need of urgent medical care: Call us, or stop by directly. Care for acute internal medical conditions such as cardiac emergencies, respiratory problems, abdominal discomfort, inflammation, fever and pain are the professional focus of the Emergency Department. For emergencies requiring surgical or intensive care, we cooperate with the hospitals of Dornach, Bruderholz and the University Hospital of Basel. A team of nursing specialists and assistant physicians, medical specialists and medical practice assistants ensures round-the-clock readiness for duty in the emergency ward. Monitors, ECG, ultrasound, laboratory, X-ray, emergency medication, etc. are available for diagnosis, monitoring and treatment. In addition, anthroposophic medicines and therapeutic wraps are used.

Internal Medicine Our internal medicine ward with 22 beds (one 3-bed room, otherwise 2- and 1-bed rooms) is located in Haus Wegman. We have a cantonal service contract for neurology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, cardiology (incl. pacemaker), pneumology and rheumatology. The ward has beds for all insurance classes.

Cardiology All non-invasive cardiological examinations are performed in the cardiology department, e.g.

• bicycle ergometry
• 24h-EKG
• R-test (event ECG)
• 24h blood pressure
• echocardiography
• Stress echocardiography
• Transesophageal echocardiography
• Pacemaker control

For the more advanced, technical examinations, the cooperation with the Department of Cardiology of the Cantonal Hospital Basel and Bruderholz has proven its worth.

**Pneumology We focus on treating patients with asthma, COPD, emphysema, bronchiectasis, pulmonary fibrosis and sarcoidosis.

We perform the following examinations for clarification and follow-up:

• pulmonary function tests
• imaging procedures
• arterial blood gas analyses (and pleural punctures if required)
• pleural punctures

For therapy, depending on the indication, medications, inhalations, external applications, respiratory physiotherapy, rhythmic massage, eurythmy therapy, speech therapy and art therapy are used.

Registrations for pulmonary function tests are accepted by the secretariat of specialized outpatient clinics.

**Neurology In the neurological outpatient clinic, various examinations and therapies of clinical neurophysiology as well as behavioral neurology are offered.

**Oncology In case of cancer, we are there for you and accompany you in all therapy phases and stages of the disease. We perform all common chemotherapies, antibody therapies as well as other systemic tumor therapies in an outpatient or, if necessary, inpatient setting. In addition, our experienced team of physicians has many years of experience in anthroposophic medicine and especially integrative oncology.

If one understands cancer not only as a local occurrence, but as a disease of the whole person, then treatment approaches are necessary which promote the healing powers and strengthen the immune system. In this context, the differentiated application of mistletoe therapy is an essential pillar of comprehensive, integrative oncological treatment, which is widely supported by numerous clinical studies. Mistletoe therapy** strengthens and harmonizes the warmth organism, which is often hypothermic in cancer, depending on the dosage, up to (desirable) fever. The associated multiple effects of mistletoe therapy on the immune system are well researched and have a positive effect on the condition and course of the disease.

External applications such as compresses, compresses and rubs, which are regularly used on our patients, also have a warming effect. The high level of expertise of our integrative medicine-trained nursing staff contributes significantly to the self-determined recovery of our patients. In addition, we offer a wide range of artistic therapies, psycho-oncological care and physiotherapeutic applications, which are specifically used and carried out within the clinic.
In this way, we offer a comprehensive, holistic therapy concept that can prevent, heal or, in advanced situations, decisively improve the quality of life.
Our oncology department has a large consultation hour, a day clinic and a ward with 15 beds.

Psychiatry/Psychosomatics

In our inpatient and outpatient psychiatry and psychosomatics we care for adults from the age of 18 with psychiatric and psychosomatic clinical pictures.
The focus is on finding an individual way of dealing with illness and crisis. This is often a process in harmony of the body with the spiritual-emotional level.

The medical care is complemented by the close support of the nursing team, which is available around the clock and thus can be contacted at any time, even in crisis situations. Each patient is accompanied by a treatment team consisting of a senior physician, an assistant physician and two reference nurses. The treatment team defines treatment goals and measures together with the patient.
An important part of the treatment consists of anthroposophical artistic and body-oriented therapies, which are carried out as individual therapy or in small groups.
The therapy program is supplemented by group offers and joint activities on the ward.

The length of stay is determined individually. For re-integration into the home environment, stress tests are part of the therapeutic program.

Psychiatry The psychiatric department is run as an open department with 22 beds. The department has a general psychiatric character and does not focus on specific clinical pictures. All psychiatric clinical pictures are treated.

**Psychosomatics In the psychosomatic department there are 20 beds for people with psychosomatic illness.
Psychosomatics often deals with life and orientation crises with accompanying insomnia or depressive symptoms, pain conditions, symptoms of skin rashes, digestive disorders or weight loss, etc., which are not based on somatic causes.

General Medicine (Practice at Pfeffingerhof, Stollenrain 11) Real healing is infinitely multi-layered and complex. We take our time for it. We see the principle of Anthroposophical Medicine in the fact that illness enables new steps of development. By overcoming the illness, new abilities on a physical, mental or spiritual level can be achieved.
Only the holistic perception of the illness also expands the starting points for therapy.

Gynecology (Practice at Pfeffingerhof, Stollenrain 11) The range of services includes annual check-ups, contraceptive advice, diagnosis and treatment of gynecological diseases and changes in the female breast.

Pregnant women are accompanied during the prenatal examinations.

The basis of treatment is a detailed discussion and, depending on the situation, subsequent examinations, including ultrasound if necessary. In consultation with the patient, an anthroposophical treatment approach is chosen for the therapy.

Pediatric Medicine (Practice at Pfeffingerhof, Stollenrain 11) An offer for the medical treatment and care of children of all ages and their families - according to the individual needs of the child.
In addition to the official preventive medical examinations and the treatment and care of acute and chronic illnesses, special consultations with a focus on the anthroposophical treatment of illnesses such as allergies, asthma, ADHD, pediatric oncology, developmental pediatrics complement the range of services.
We consider it important to promote the development of patients in a child- and family-oriented manner, and to accompany and treat them. For this purpose, we also include a counseling service regarding education and nursing measures.
