Paola Morniroli (Lugano)

I am a young psychotherapist specializing in cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy for children, adolescents and young adults.

The cognitive-behavioral therapy approach that I practice focuses primarily on the here and now. It postulates that emotions and behaviors are determined by our interpretation of one or more events experienced during our life journey.

Therapies

Child

Therapeutic Path: Through play and dialogue, I help children express their emotions and manage their reactions. Starting with active listening, I identify together with the child his resources by experimenting with solutions and alternatives through visualization and situating.

Educational pathway: In the educational field, I offer short pathways to parents through the Australian Triple P (practical, parental, positive) method. This approach consists of fostering children's development and managing their behavior in a positive and constructive way, thus helping them develop their skills and feel good about themselves.

Adolescent

Therapeutic path: Through dialogue individual together with the adolescent his passions and resources by leveraging them to address the difficulty that hinders him. In a second step, the adolescent is stimulated to seek alternative thoughts and reactions to move from a vicious to a virtuous circle.

Each path is unique and personalized and aims to enhance the adolescent and stimulate his or her feeling of self-efficacy.

Adults

Therapeutic pathway: In my work with adults, I rely mainly on cognitive and behavioral psychology. My goal is to accompany young adults in expressing their feelings, becoming aware of themselves and their entourage, so that they can be supported in their developmental and/or change journey.

My interventions are based on supporting and encouraging verbal expression, reframing what is expressed, and highlighting the meanings to which it becomes progressively possible to access.
