Thérapeute Désirée Kogevinas (Genève)

Désirée has many years' experience in the care of addictions, mental illness and behavioral disorders. Désirée spent over ten years as a communications officer at the World Health Organization. She has also volunteered for a number of charities, and particularly enjoyed helping the street children of Bogotá. Today, she is an Addiction Counselor specializing in support and recovery from addictive disorders. She helps people all over the world to free themselves from their addictions through coaching, risk reduction, family care and "invitational intervention" techniques for people in distress. Désirée works in English and French, and is also fluent in Greek and Spanish.

Since 2002, Désirée has embarked on her own journey of recovery from behavioral and substance addictions. Her journey was bumpy at first, but she received community support from self-help groups and excellent treatment centers. Both helped to give her a life she could never have imagined, even in her wildest dreams. She also received a lot of therapeutic help for her childhood traumas, and went from darkness and despair to light and joy.

Today, Désirée is passionate about helping others - she works with love and compassion, and thrives on the connection she makes with others.
